JCC PLAYMAKERS YOUTH THEATRE PRESENTS BEEHIVE, February 15-25
Larry Gallagher’s 1960’s musical, Beehive, will be performed by two casts of 65 talented teens at Fairmount Temple, February 15-25. The production is directed by Sheri Gross, who heads up the Jewish Community Center’s Playmakers Youth Theatre.
Eight performances will take place at Fairmount Temple’s Brickner Auditorium, located at 23737 Fairmount Boulevard in Beachwood. The schedule of performances is as follows:
Thursday, February 15 and 22 at 7pm, Saturday, February 17 and 24 at 8pm and Sunday, February 17 and 25 at 2pm and 7pm.
Tickets are priced at $10 for the general public, $8 for students, seniors and JCC members and can be purchased by calling the Playmakers box office at 216-831-0700, x1230. Advance reservations are strongly recommended.
Audience members are encouraged to come dressed in 1960’s garb. Those who come with a Beehive hairdo will be entered in a raffle to win prizes. A dance contest will take place onstage during intermission.
This interactive musical revue highlights the wide range of music from the 1960’s featuring songs by well-known girl groups like the Shirelles and the Angels, the music of popular artists such as Leslie Gore and Connie Francis, songs made popular during the British Invasion, and songs marking dramatic changes in our society.
The 65 cast members, who range in age from 14 to 17 represent a diverse cross section of young performers from throughout the region.
