Meet Ari Golub, Our New Anisfield Day Camp Director

Ari GolubAri has over 10 years of professional experience in the day and overnight Jewish camping field. Most recently as the Director of Camping and Children's Programs at the Boynton Beach JCC in Florida. Before then, Ari had professional leadership roles at Camp Laurelwood- the only Jewish residential camp in Connecticut- and the JCC Day Camp in Richmond, Virginia. Ari is a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University with a B.S. in Elementary Education. Ari believes that camp is one of the most important experiences for social growth in the life of a child and is looking forward to spending many summers with our camp families!

Fun, Wonderful Day Camp Experiences for Children of all Ages
The positive impact of Jewish camping on children is immeasurable and provides lifelong benefits. And there’s no better place to experience Jewish camping than at Mandel JCC day camps. All of our camps believe in a technology and digital-free experience so children can discover the oft-forgotten pleasures of sports, swimming, canoeing, singing, arts and culture, games, group activities and ruach (hebrew for spirit). A variety of daily opportunities to "live Jewishly" and activities to shepherd in the Sabbath are also provided by our camps. And all of our day camps are inclusive and provide opportunities for children with disabilities to fully participate in camp life.

Day Camp Options to Match Every Child’s Interest and Talents.
We offer a rich selection of summer camp options to match nearly every child’s interest and talents. Anisfield Day Camp has two outstanding facilities that serve nearly 500 children entering Kindergarten through Grade 6 each summer: The Mandel JCC site and the rustic lake campsite in Burton, Ohio. Maccabi Sports Village at Anisfield Day Camp is for campers who wish to enjoy all the fun, camaraderie and spirit of traditional day camp with a focus on sports. And Playland Day Camp, for our youngest campers’ entering Prekindergarten and Kindergarten, offers opportunities to learn new skills and make new friends in a nurturing setting.

Francine and Benson Pilloff Family Playmakers Performing Arts Camp
This unique summer program located at Fairmount Temple in Beachwood encourages campers entering Prekindergarten through Grade 9 to stretch their imagination, take risks on stage, develop their creativity, soar to new heights and have a wonderful experience with classes and activities that developed self-confidence and a sense of teamwork. More than 300 campers, each summer enjoy learning the ropes and the behind-the-scenes art of theater production along with the joys of performing, singing and dancing on stage.

Newly Remodeled Camp
Anisfield Day Camp’s Burton site and Camp Wise, our overnight camp, were both recently enriched through a three-phase $6.7 million renovation. All improvements were carefully designed around and to preserve the beautiful and natural setting of the camps.

The Mandel JCC Day Camps Are Inclusive
Consistent with our Mandel JCC mission, our day camps are inclusive and welcome children with physical, emotional and developmental challenges. Our highly trained staff works with each child’s teachers, physicians and therapists to ensure the most positive camp experience. An intake interview is required prior to acceptance into the program. A limited number of spaces are available, please call (216) 593-6249 for more information.
